Tumble Dry

Another popular question is if “Turkish towels can be dried in tumble drier?” The answer is YES. We recommend that you try to keep the drier setting at low heat.

When it comes to drying your towels or throws, you normally have few options. It all depends on your preference and also type of house you are living in.

We prefer and recommend hang to dry or line dry outside on a good season. This is by far the most efficient and environmentally friendly way of drying clothes. Drying your towels and throws on a line or clothes hanger has one distinct advantage over tumble drier. Once they are hanged properly with gentle stretches on each end (when you leave them to dry they should look like a rectangular) they won`t need to be ironed. They will be ready to use immediately with little to no crease.

Machine Wash

One of the most common questions we keep getting ask is that “Can I was my Turkish Towel in washing machine?”. Yes, you absolutely can. This also depends on the material that your towel is made out of. At HforHammam our Turkish Towels made with 100 % natural cotton yarns, and they are machine-washable up to 40°C (105F) also known as warm wash

You can wash your Turkish towels and throws along with any other like colours.

No Bleach No Fabric Conditioner

We strongly recommend not to use any bleach or fabric conditioner. Harsh chemicals are not good for fibres of your towels. Those may reduce absorbency and longevity of your towels. Also it may affect colour sharpness of your garments.

Tassels and Pulled Loop

Unravelled tassels? Not a problem! After using and machine washing your Turkish towel for few months, tassels on your towel can be undone. It is very easy to fix. All you need to do is split unravelled tassels into two, turn each of them separately until they are tight, then simply tie them together with a overhead knot. Job done.

Pulled Loop Fix in 2 minutes

Should you pull one of the treads of your towel by accident here is how to fix it. Identify the pulled loop, decide if it is on the weft (horizontal thread) or warp (vertical thread). Whether pulled loop part of a horizontal or vertical thread, just follow the thread, once you reach to the end on each side, hold it wide and stretch it gently. This should normally fix most of the simple pulled thread issues. If can`t be fixed by a gentle stretch to each direction, then simply grab a pair of scissors and cut it off closer to end of it. Viola! Cutting a pulled loop will not damage overall integrity of your towel.
